Georgina is regularly invited as a Keynote speaker at national and international events. She also presents at education conferences and facilitates professional development for teachers and leaders in schools.
In April 2024, Georgina will be a Visiting Professor at the University of Wyoming working alongside Professor Cynthia Brock in literacy, multimodality and cultural acceptance.
Throughout July 2024, Georgina will work with teachers and leaders in rural Thailand to support their work in English language as instruction. She will also visit UNESCO education staff to discuss opportunities for improvement in teaching and learning.
Recent presentations have included: 1. Keynote at the Australian Literacy Educators' Association Meanjin event for teachers on Teaching aesthetic literacies 2. The disadvantages and advantages of small schools - Independent Schools Queensland. 3. The teaching of writing for Brisbane Catholic Education and ALEA Albury-Wodonga 4. Multimodal text comprehension and composition for ALEA Darling Downs 5. Teaching cohesion and functional grammar for primary school teachers and 6. Supporting wellbeing through times of crises: arts-based and multimodal reflection for international students and staff. Georgina regularly presents professional learning sessions with teachers in schools. Topics include: 1. Teaching writing 2. Teaching reading 3. Multimodal texts - visual literacy, composing multimodal texts 4. Curriculum literacies including writing and reading in subject areas 5. Teacher and student wellbeing 6.
